AI Meal Planner & Recipe (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the AI Meal Planner & Recipe mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the App.
This policy applies to the App available on the Apple App Store. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. Please also review our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you first open the App, we automatically create an anonymous account for you through our authentication provider, Supabase. This account is identified by a unique user ID. We do not require you to provide your name, email address, or password to use the App.
User Content You Provide
To generate recipes, week plans, and shopping lists, the App sends information you enter to our servers, including:
- Meal and recipe prompts (text you type describing what you want to cook or plan)
- Conversation history related to your prompts
- Dietary preferences, such as allergies, excluded ingredients, preferred ingredients, and recipe behavior settings (for example, healthier choices, cheaper choices, fast recipes, or kid-friendly mode)
- Measurement system preference (metric or imperial)
- Week plan settings, such as number of days and meals per day
- Existing recipe or plan data when you edit or regenerate content
Generated Content
Our AI processing service returns generated recipes, week plans, and shopping lists based on your input. This content is stored on your device and may be processed on our servers to provide the service.
Subscription Information
The App offers free, Pro, and Premium tiers. We receive your subscription tier status from our backend to determine which features and usage limits apply to your account. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Subscription and purchase data is also processed by RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, on our behalf.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except when included in a prompt or API request as described above:
- Saved shopping lists, recipes, and week plans
- Favourite recipes and plans
- App settings (language, theme, measurement system, layout preferences)
- Onboarding and tutorial completion state
- Authentication session token (stored in secure storage on your device)
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features
- Generate recipes, week plans, and shopping lists using AI
- Authenticate your session and link your account to your subscription
- Enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier
- Respond to support requests
- Improve the reliability and performance of the App
We do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. What We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number (unless you voluntarily provide them when contacting support)
- Location data
- Photos, camera, or contacts data
- Analytics or usage tracking data through third-party analytics SDKs
- Crash or diagnostic data through third-party crash reporting services
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
The App does not display advertisements and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

5. Data Storage and Retention
On your device: Recipes, shopping lists, week plans, preferences, and settings are stored locally using on-device databases and preferences storage. You can remove this data by uninstalling the App. The App also offers a setting to automatically delete old shopping lists after a period you choose.
On our servers: Prompts and related data are transmitted to our servers to generate content and are retained as long as needed to operate the service and maintain your account. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your server-side data as described in Section 6.
Authentication tokens: Your session token is stored in secure storage on your device.
6. Your Choices and Data Deletion
Local data: You can delete local data by uninstalling the App from your device.
Server-side account and data: Because the App creates an anonymous account automatically, you may request deletion of your account and associated server-side data at any time by emailing us at support@aimealsplanner.com. Please include enough information for us to identify your account (for example, your anonymous user ID if available from a support request, or a description of when you started using the App). We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Deleting your account will remove server-side data associated with your account. Local data on your device will remain until you uninstall the App.
Subscriptions: Canceling or deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings. See our Terms and Conditions for details.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us at support@aimealsplanner.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we process, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) for data sent to our servers and secure storage for authentication tokens on your device. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
